Sketch for a Falling Demolition Ball is a series of site-specific drawings examining space, plans and failure, putting into question scale, perception, form and gesture.

'Sketch for a Demolition Ball I & III' form the premise for animations made directly on the wall. They are simultaneously disruptive and reclusive. Starting as paired back geometric drawings in paint and transforming into textured charcoal smudges that move as the demolition balls are animated to drop and fall and stacked architectural forms are removed from the charcoal film with an eraser.

'Sketch for a Demolition Ball II' is static in its form tracing the motion of the demolition ball as a freeze frame action in the space, whilst 'Sketch for a Demolition Ball IV' was a durational 9 hour live performance drawing at the White Moose, Devon, UK.

'Sketch for Falling Demolition Ball IV'. 2015. Paint and charcoal on wall. 210 x 230 x 120cm. Site specific work for White Moose, Devon
